My name is Fay Evans and I’m a children’s author on a mission to help primary school teachers MAKE EVERY DAY A BOOK DAY!
I write fabulous rhyming stories for illustrated books, including Fred The Fire-Sneezing Dragon, Bob’s Beard and my latest book, Dave The Whale.
As a professional storyteller, I enjoy visiting primary schools, nurseries, bookshops, libraries, festivals and events across the UK to share my stories, boost literacy and inspire young readers and budding writers.
I’ve delivered interactive storytelling sessions at well over 150 primary schools, engaging and entertaining children from EYFS through to Year 6.
My primary school author visits are hugely popular, highly rated, engaging and interactive. They include lots of audience participation, props and cuddly characters, as well as simple actions and rhymes for the children to learn and join in with.
My author visits are ideal for EYFS and Key Stage 1 classes, from Pre School and Reception, up to and including Year 2. I’m skilled at adapting my presentation style according to age and ability, and am happy to deliver sessions for older pupils throughout Key Stage 2.
My primary school author visits include spending either a half day (up to 3 hours) or full day (6 hours max) delivering multiple 40-minute storytelling sessions. Attendance fees are payable on booking, along with travel costs from my base in Cheshire. Parents/carers can pre-order signed copies of my books for children to receive on the day of the author visit.
I also offer a standalone 60-minute assembly session, suitable for all primary school pupils. I describe my inspiring journey to becoming an author and share an interactive reading of Fred The Fire-Sneezing Dragon. This is followed by a live Q&A with the children and a ‘meet and greet’ book signing. Schools can opt to receive a FREE assembly session by agreeing to purchase a minimum number of books.
