Primary School Author Visits 2023 Are Go!

Wishing all our primary school teacher friends past, present and future a Happy New Year, from Fay, Fred, Bob and Dave! Author visits 2023 are go!

I’m so excited to see what this year brings. I can’t wait to deliver my fun-filled author visits at all the primary schools that have already booked interactive storytelling sessions this year.

The week of World Book Day 2023 is almost fully booked, but I’m still making it my mission to encourage primary school teachers to celebrate books and storytelling all year round! If you want to help ‘make every day a book day’ this year then please get in touch to find out more about my primary school author visits.

After launching my new storytelling sessions with my latest book Dave The Whale in September 2022, I’ve been blown away by the fabulous feedback from primary school teachers. Here’s a sample:-

“The author visit had enthusiasm, actions, positivity and engagement. Excellent use of props to engage and include all the children. Ten out of ten. Please come and visit us again!” EYFS teacher, Janet Duke Primary School, Basildon.

“I love how Fay interacts with the children and encourages them to participate as characters in the storytelling! Great! Ten out of ten.” School Librarian, Castle Hill Academy, Croydon.

As with my previous books Fred The Fire-Sneezing Dragon and Bob’s Beard, my interactive storytelling sessions with Dave The Whale are suitable for all primary year groups. As illustrated rhyming stories, my books are ideal for EYFS and Key Stage 1, but I’m also highly skilled at adapting my presentation style for classes right through to Year 6.

My latest book tells the story of an adorable young whale who longs to swim to dry land to sunbathe and play on the beach. My interactive storytelling sessions with Dave The Whale include copying simple actions to ‘swim along with Dave’.

As well as encouraging everyone to ‘flap your flippers’ there are lots of cuddly characters to meet – including up to 100 baby sea turtles! This ensures ALL children have the opportunity to get involved in some creative role play and help bring my story to life.

Dave The Whale also includes information about marine conservation and protecting our oceans. Each 40-minute storytelling session includes an author Q&A with the children.

I’m now taking bookings through to the 2023 Easter holidays, with assembly sessions (FREE option), half-day (3-hour) and full day author visits available featuring multiple storytelling sessions.  Travel is charged from my base in Cheshire and for schools far and wide I have introduced a standard fixed travel expenses cost, to help make my visits more affordable.
