My FREE Primary School Author Visits Are Back!

I’m excited to let you know that I am once again offering FREE author visits to primary schools and nurseries across the UK!

As schools adapt to new ways of working, I’m now starting to receive a growing number of enquiries regarding my FREE ‘in person’ author visits. I’m keen to continue this offer and am happy to discuss delivering my sessions in accordance with your school’s visitor guidelines. I’m taking bookings through to Spring 2021 and beyond.

My FREE author visits are all about sharing stories to engage children from Early Years through to Year 6. Each 40-minute storytelling session is based around my latest picturebook Bob’s Beard. This is a fun and interactive rhyming story, with lots of audience participation.

My author visits help to boost literacy, phonics and comprehension skills, as well as inspiring budding authors, illustrators and reluctant readers.

No attendance fee is charged for a FREE half-day (3-hour) visit, providing a minimum of 30 books are purchased on the day (£8 each). Alternatively, there is the option of a £150 attendance fee, with no minimum book purchase required. Mileage is only charged to schools outside a 20-mile radius of Macclesfield, Cheshire.

Where school guidelines prevent my ‘in person’ author visits, I will continue to offer ‘virtual’ assembly-style sessions delivered LIVE ONLINE. All sessions are run EXCLUSIVELY for each individual school, with multiple classroom computers able to log in, view and participate via a dedicated Zoom meeting link.

During my virtual visits I share two stories, starting with the inspiring tale of how I became a children’s author. I then perform a live reading of my rhyming story Fred The Fire-Sneezing Dragon. This features a series of simple actions for everyone to join in with, as we ‘sneeze-along’ with Fred. Ah-choo!
