Fred The Musical To Premiere At Liverpool Theatre Festival

Soooo excited to share the fantastic news that my stage show Fred The Musical will have its PROFESSIONAL WORLD PREMIERE at Liverpool Theatre Festival in July 2023!

Tickets for two daytime performances at 11.30am and 1.30pm on Sunday 23 July 2023 are ON SALE NOW and I would love you to be there to enjoy and support the show.

Aimed at toddlers, primary school children and all young-at-heart theatregoers, the show is full of panto-inspired interaction. With lots of audience participation, sing-along songs, actions and dance moves, everyone is encouraged to join in and have fun.

The 50-minute show has a simple all-rhyming narrative and features a lively mix of musical styles including a boogie-woogie bop, a tango, a folk song, a rock ‘n roll number, a catchy jazz tune and a pop ballad by the show’s leading man – a lovable dragon.

Based on my original rhyming picture book Fred The Fire-Sneezing Dragon the show tells the story of Fred, a lonely young dragon whose fiery sneezes cause chaos at school. Fred is teased by his human classmates, until he accidentally saves the day.

At the heart of the show are themes of friendship, diversity, and inclusivity – encouraging children to be kind by accepting that everyone is different.

As the show’s writer, lyricist and composer, I’m thrilled to have collaborated with ace producer Bill Elms to bring the show to the stage for the very first time at Liverpool Theatre Festival.

Back for the fourth year running Liverpool Theatre Festival features a diverse programme of performances. This year the Festival features drama, cabaret, comedy, music, opera, musicals, family shows, and drag shows, with 25 performances over 11 days.

Liverpool Theatre Festival runs at St Luke’s – The Bombed Out Church, a vibrant open air space for culture, community, remembrance and heritage engagement.
