Children’s Author Announces ‘Charity of the Year’

I am thrilled to announce that UK children’s charity ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’ is my Charity of the Year.

I will be donating a percentage of the profits from future book sales to the charity, whose mission is to grant the wishes of children living with a life threatening illness by organising special events, trips and memorable moments.

My books are all about bringing smiles and happiness to young readers, so When You Wish Upon a Star is very close to my heart. I hope that this initiative will help to raise funds and bring light into the lives of many children by making their wishes come true.

As part of my fundraising effort, I am selling signed copies of my current book, Fred The Fire-Sneezing Dragon through this website. I am also continuing my Author Visits to primary schools, nurseries, libraries and groups across the UK, where children can enjoy inspiring storytelling sessions and have their books signed.

When You Wish Upon a Star’s North West Regional Fundraiser Melanie Scholefield (pictured above) says: “Fay’s kind donation to our charity will help us to fund special wishes for children living with a life threatening illness. Our wishes allow families to put their child’s illness on hold as they have fun and create special memories in a time of uncertainty and emotional strain.”

When You Wish Upon a Star was founded in 1990 to bring smiles to the faces of brave and courageous children aged from two to 16 years across the UK. To date the charity has proudly granted over 17,500 wishes to help transform the lives of sick children and their families.
